MBombay Kesara Salamon 1/31/16

Appearance 

Light brown wrapper with tight nearly invisible seams. Very few veins are visible in the silky wrapper. There is a nice oily sheen on the wrapper. 

Aroma

A slight barnyard aroma on the wrapper and not much aroma at the foot other than the faint sweetness and a hint of spice.

Prelight Draw

Hint of spice on the lips and cedar and a sweet note.

1st

First draws bring notes of cedar to the palate. The draw is near perfect and the burn is spot on. The cigar flavor has a nice creamy texture. The ash is medium gray and semi tight. Cashews join the flavor profile with a hint of spice developing. The spice which starts in the cinnamon range quickly moves to warm cinnamon. 

2nd

By the start of the 2nd/3rd the ash has tightened up. The cedar and cashew notes remain constant while the spice fluctuates up and down in strength. The strength of the cigar has been in the medium range since the start. It has a long finish with notes of cedar, cashew and warm cinnamon spice. 

Final/3rd

By the beginning of the final/3rd the strength is at medium+. The flavors remain the same through till the end. 

Overall a very enjoyable smoking experience. Definitely a cigar to keep in the humi for anytime of the day. Thanks again to Mel Shah brand owner of @mbombaycigars for the samples for review. GoGetchasome™!!

MBombay Mora Lancero 1/24/16

Appearance 

The wrapper is chocolate brown in color with tight nearly invisible seams. It has a nice tight pig tail cap and an inch of exposed binder and filler at the foot. I didn't use the word shaggy because it's not a shaggy foot in the normal sense. The exposed binder is wrapped around and covers the filler. The wrapper has a somewhat mottled oil sheen.

Aroma

The wrapper has an earthy aroma with a very faint cocoa powder scent in the background. The foot has a white cedar type aroma.

Prelight Draw

Hazelnuts with a light cocoa powder and an earthy finish.

1st

Initial draws bring notes of dry toast and cedar. A faint hint of spice also shows itself. As the wrapper begins to combust there is a definite sweetness joining the flavor profile. The draw is a bit snug. The ash is medium gray and tight. The burn thus far is spot on. There is a slight black pepper note present. The sweetness I detected early on is reminiscent of hazelnuts. 

2nd

There is a meaty note bringing the flavors together. The flavor profile has been very balanced to this point. The draw is still snug and could be due to the small ring gauge. The finish is medium in length with the earthy, hazelnut,cedar,spice and meaty notes all in balance. Later in this 3rd there is some cinnamon that joins the black pepper in the spice department. 

Final/3rd

The same flavor profile continues into the final/3rd. The draw opened up a little in this 3rd. Burn was spot on from start to finish.

MBombay Classic Robusto 1/17/16

Appearance 

The cigar has a light brown colored wrapper with a couple prominent veins. The seams are tight tho not invisible. There is a light oil sheen. 

Aroma

A light barnyard aroma is present on the wrapper with a hint of spice. Faint licorice blends in with fresh tobacco aromas at the foot.

Prelight Draw

Cedar leather spice and licorice flavors are present on the prelight draw.

1st

The first puff after lighting brings an iced coffee like flavor with an unusual sour note mixed with a little sweetness. The sweetness lingers on the finish. The draw is just a touch snug. The burn has a slight wave. The finish is medium in length. At about 3/8" in there is a spice note developing. The iced coffee noted becomes more of a traditional coffee flavor. Cedar is also present at this point. The ash looks like charcoal burning with the dark and light contrasts and is a bit flaky. 

2nd

The burn line which was off line a bit has almost fully self corrected by the start of the 2nd/3rd. The draw has loosened up nicely at this point. The spice note has developed into a crushed red pepper. The ash is becoming tighter(less flaky) as the cigar burns. The spice tapers off a bit at the end of 2nd.

Final/3rd

A meaty note joins the coffee and cedar to start the final/3rd. Strength has remained in the medium range til now when it goes to medium+. 

Overall a well balanced and flavorful cigar which provided a very pleasurable smoking experience. Another great cigar from @mbombaycigars

Jas Sum Kral (I Am King) Toro 6x52 1/2/16

Appearance 

A milk chocolatey wrapper with tight seams and a couple of prominent veins. It has a very slight oil sheen. Single cap with a tightly wrapped and coiled pig tail. The foot is almost fully closed by excess binder and wrapper. The band is very ornate and well done.

Aroma

Barnyardy on the wrapper and a molasses sweetness at the foot.

Prelight Draw 

Molasses and cinnamon 

1st

First puffs reveal nutty tobacco notes with a cinnamon spice in the background. The draw is a bit snug to start but they generally loosen up in short order. The burn has a slight wave but again it's early. The ash is light gray and tight. The nutty flavor is along the lines of mixed nuts. Smoke output is in the generous range. There is also a dry hay like note. The finish is long with notes of cinnamon spice, hay, nuts and the molasses sweetness. 

2nd

Dropped the ash into the ashtray to start the 2nd/3rd. The strength went from medium in the 1st to medium+ at the start of 2nd. The draw has loosened up nicely and the burn is still off by about 10*.  Getting some nice leather notes at end of 2nd. 

Final/3rd

Burn line has fully self corrected at start of final/3rd. Flavors continue thru til the nub.

Jordan Alexander III Robusto (reblended/rebranded) 1/1/16

Appearance 

Dark brown silky wrapper with tight nearly invisible seams. No prominent veins. It has an interesting single cap with a twisted and tied pig tail. It has a nice oily sheen. The new band is very nice and ornate. 

Aroma 

Barnyard with cinnamon and cocoa powder on the wrapper. Foot is mostly closed by excess wrapper.

Prelight Draw 

Cocoa powder & cinnamon spice over a light woody note. 

1st

Initial draw is mostly from wrapper and is full of cinnamon spice. The cocoa powder and cinnamon mix well together with an underlying wood note. At the 1" point the draw and burn are perfect. Excellent construction at the Quesada cigar factory in DR. The ash is salt&pepper gray and tight. Near the end of 1st/3rd the cinnamon becomes warm cinnamon. 

2nd

Moving into the 2nd the cocoa powder seems to fade but a roasted nut flavor replaces it. The burn has developed a slight wave. I removed the ash between 3rd's but it was strong and would have held much longer. The strength is a solid medium. At the halfway point of the cigar there is a nice fruity note joining the mix. Fruit, nuts and cinnamon dominate the profile at this point. A few draws later the cinnamon gets warmer and the strength moves to medium+. Late in the second the spice becomes more of a crushed red pepper(that's a good thing). The burn line has fully self corrected. The strength moves to med/full near the end of this 3rd. 

Final/3rd

The final/3rd starts out with the fruity note becoming much like a Granny Smith apple flavor. The roasted nuts and crushed red pepper with woody undertone round out the flavor profile. 

Overall a complex flavorful wonderful smoking experience.
