Rocky Patel Decade Cameroon 11/7/14

Appearance
Beautiful Cameroon wrapper with tight seams and tiny veins. Beautiful bands! The copper on black is a nice contrast.

Aroma
Light barnyard on wrapper. Cocoa, hay and a faint raisin note on the foot.

Prelight Draw
Hay and sweetness

1st
The spice hits right away. Perfect draw and burn to start. The spice tastes like black pepper but it has time to develop. The 1st/3rd is dominated by the black pepper spice.

2nd
As the spice tapers off some woody(white cedar) notes show themselves. Also some leather notes appear. Now coffee notes have entered the mix. There is a sweetness on the finish like caramel. Very well balanced cigar so far.

Final
The final/3rd starts with notes of creamy nuts(cashews) at the forefront. Still plenty of spice although it's more like pimenton(spanish paprika). Ash is salt & pepper gray and semi tight. Halfway thru the spice gets stronger again. The draw & burn have stayed perfect.
The strength was medium thru the 1st half then worked its way to full by the final/3rd. A complex smoke for sure. If u like the Decade you'll enjoy this Cameroon Decade!
