GTO Cigars Pain Killer Corojo 4/30/15

Appearance
Milk chocolate brown wrapper with a light oil sheen. It has a couple prominent veins. The seems are fairly tight.

Aroma
Barnyardy scent on the wrapper and sweet molasses at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Molasses and a hint of spice.

1st
I find a citrusy(Tangy) note immediately in the first few puffs. The spice begins to show itself right away but is just a mild red pepper at this point. The cigar has a perfect draw. The burn line is nearly perfect as well. The ash is light gray and semi tight with just a few flakes at the 1" mark. Ash dropped at 1 1/4" mark.

2nd
A woody note began to emerge near the end of the 1st/3rd and has continued to develop into the 2nd. The aroma reminds me of a few times my dad would put hickory chips on the BBQ. Burn & draw have continued to b perfect. Ash has tightened up nicely. Getting some coffee notes albeit very light. The spice has picked up to a nice Pimenton(spanish paprika).

Final/3rd
Prior flavors continue thru the final/3rd. A very nice flavorful medium+ strength smoke. Thanks to Oscar for the samples to review

Bill Bromley Cigars Butter Toro 4/28/15

Appearance
The cigar has a light oily sheen. One prominent vein. Seams are tight and nearly invisible. Light brown in color.

Aroma
Light cedar notes on the wrapper. Cedar and a hint of spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Cedar and some light hay.

1st
The initial draws are a bit snug. I'm sure it will loosen up as the cigar burns. The cedar comes thru right away with a subtle hint of spice. It also shows a bit of leather. The flavors are creamy as the name would hint. The burn line is off about 30*. The strength is mild to medium at this point. The ash is salt&pepper gray and slightly flaky. Near the end of the 1st/3rd the spice and strength ramp up. The spice is like allspice.

2nd
By the start of the 2nd/3rd the cigar has fully self corrected. No touch ups or re lights have been needed. The spice has mellowed somewhat allowing cashew notes to emerge. The spice vacillates back and forth. Since self correcting the burn has been spot on.

Final/3rd
Since the halfway point of the cigar the ash has been tight and holds on til I ash at each third. Flavors continue as in the first 2/3's. A very creamy buttery enjoyable smoke. Thanks to Bill Bromley for the review samples. Follow Bill @BBromley on Twitter. And give these very enjoyable cigars a try.

GTO Cigars Pain Killer Maduro Toro 4/19/15

Appearance
A chocolate brown wrapper a little mottled. There are a couple prominent veins. The seams are fairly tight. It has a nice oily sheen.

Aroma
Earthy and chocolatey on the wrapper. Earthy with molasses at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Molasses and earth

1st
First puffs are earthy. The ash is tight and almost white. The molasses comes in right after the earthy notes. Just past 1"in a hint of spice is detected. The spice grows from a hint to a mild Paprika. The cocoa powder notes are a nice addition to the spice. It's a very smooth smoking cigar to this point.  The draw and burn have been spot on so far. Late in this third some espresso notes join the mix.

2nd
Just into the 2nd/3rd the espresso notes become a little more prominent. The spice seems to vacillate from strong to mild as other notes enter the mix. The ash has become a light gray and a little flaky. Midway thru the 2nd I'm picking up notes of nuts which coupled with the spice reminds me of roasted nuts. The strength of the cigar started out a low medium but has progressed nicely to a medium+ late in the 2nd/3rd. Plenty of smoke output on puffs and between.

Final/3rd
Noticing some dried fruit notes initially. The finish has notes of espresso, spice, nuts and dried fruit. The spice ramps up to a cayenne pepper range. The draw & burn have continued to be perfect with no corrections or re lights needed.

GTO Cigars Gold Corona Connecticut 3/31/15

GTO Cigars Gold Corona Connecticut 3/31/15

Appearance
A beautiful Conn.(USA) wrapper with a couple prominent veins. Seams are tight and nearly invisible.

Aroma
Very barnyardy with a sweet aroma on the wrapper. Same at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Hay

1st
First couple puffs gave hay notes then a few more puffs and a wonderful citrus jumped in with both feet. Nice tangy notes but not overpowering. Draw is a bit snug and burn perfect at this point. The citrus balances nicely with the hay and cedar notes. Ash is salt&pepper gray and fairly tight.

2nd
Flavors continue from the 1st/3rd. Halfway thru 2nd there is a faint hint of allspice. The flavors are definitely creamy and work well together.

Final/3rd
The spice picks up a little blending nicely with the cedar and citrus. A nice creamy consistent smoke. Thanks go to Oscar @GTOcigars for the samples to review. Check back for more GTO Cigars reviews soon.
