Cohiba Blue Rothschild 5/21/17

Appearance
A light brown colored wrapper with 1 prominent vein. It's well wrapped with tight seams. There is a very light oil sheen. It also has a bit of tooth.

Aroma
Cedar and tobacco on the wrapper. Brown sugar toast and a faint hint of spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Toast, cinnamon spice and a hint of cocoa powder.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of dry mild cinnamon toast. Draw is perfect. As is the burn. Cocoa powder notes join the profile. The ash is medium gray and flaky.

2nd
The smoke production is in the low end of high range. Some black pepper notes are joining the profile. The finish is long with notes of toast, cocoa powder, black pepper, a pinch of brown sugar and mild cinnamon spice. Burn is getting a bit wavy. Cinnamon spice steps up to warm cinnamon. The ash tightens up, very little flake now. Burn has almost fully self corrected. Strength is at medium+.

Final/3rd
The ash holds firm til removal at each 3rd. The flavor profile remains consistent through to the nub.

Overall
The Cohiba Blue Rothschild provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced tasty profile with a perfect draw and near perfect burn. This was probably the best Dominican Cohiba I've smoked but at $9+ for a 4 1/2" cigar is a bit pricey.
