CuriVari La Democracia Robusto 3/18/18

 Appearance
A nice medium brown colored wrapper with a couple of prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. The wrapper has a beautiful oily sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots. The 3- seam cap is well applied.

Aroma
Very faint tobacco on the wrapper. Slight cedar at the foot. This is what happens to cigars without cello. No cold aroma.

Prelight Draw
Cedar, a very distant sweetness and a mild spice.

1st
Initial draws bring notes of cedar with a hint of tobacco. The draw is spot on. Burn line is slightly wavy. The ash is medium gray, stacked and flaky. A mild paprika spice begins to develop around 1” in. Some toast like notes join the profile. Ash holds on til removal.

2nd
Coffee notes join the profile. Upon inspection of the working end I notice a couple of small tunnels which are causing the mildly erratic burn. Smoke production is at the low end of high range. Strength is mild/medium. Burn is self correcting. The ash tightens up. The finish is long with notes of cedar, toast, coffee and paprika spice.

Final/3rd
Strength moves to medium+. Profile remains consistent right through to the nub.

Overall
The CuriVari La Democracia Robusto provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A balanced and consistent flavor profile with a great draw and mildly erratic burn.
