Appearance
A light brown and mottled wrapper with a few prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. The leaf appears dry, without any oil. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.
Aroma
Dry tobacco on the wrapper. The same at the foot.
Prelight Draw
Dry tobacco, cedar and spice.
1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar and warm cinnamon spice. The draw is effortless. The burn is a bit wavy. The ash is light gray and stacked with a bit of flake. The spice is becoming more like a crushed red pepper spice. The ash held firm and straight until removal.
2nd
Upon inspection of the working end I find a tunnel on one side just under the binder which caused the erratic burn. Almond notes join the profile. The burn is self correcting.
Final/3rd
Coffee notes join the profile. The finish is long with notes of cedar, almond, coffee and crushed red pepper spice. The profile remains consistent right to the nub.
Overall
Cory’s blend #2 provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with an effortless draw and an erratic burn.
A big thank you to brother Cory @chacocll for the cigar he personally rolled for review.
