Appearance
The light brown wrapper has a few prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. There was a very small amount of oil sheen and the cigar is a bit toothy.
Aroma
Light earthy, light barnyard and sweetness on the wrapper. Earth, barnyard and sweetness at the foot.
Prelight Draw
Black licorice, cedar, leather, graham cracker and a hint of spice on the lips and tongue.
1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar, a light graham cracker and a mild allspice. Burn is a bit wavy at 1/2" in. Draw is absolutely perfect. The ash is salt&pepper gray and stacked. Burn line has almost fully self corrected. A nice soft leather joins the profile. The smoke production is very good. Strength so far is in the medium range.
2nd
A very buttery crescent roll like flavor joins the profile. Strength moves to medium+. The finish is long with notes of cedar, graham cracker, leather, buttery crescent roll and allspice.
Final/3rd
Strength is at med/full leaning more to the full. The ash started getting flaky in the 2nd/3rd and continues to be flaky. The spice has become more like a paprika at this point. A nice espresso note joins the profile. The strength goes to full in the beginning of the final/3rd.
Overall the Vartan Zoravar provides a very enjoyable smoking experience. A complex and very well balanced flavor profile. It's one of the best house blends you will ever smoke!
A big thank you to my brother Vartan @AmbassadorCigar (Owner of Ambassador Fine Cigars) for the gift for review.
