Joseph NicaVana Belicoso 1/7/15

Appearance
Dark chocolatey with a light oil sheen. Nice tight seems. 2 prominent veins.

Aroma
Earthy and floral with light cocoa on the wrapper. Molasses, earth and chocolate at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Earthy and dark chocolate and a hint of spice on the lips.

1st
Earthy to start. The spice comes on strong after the first few puffs. It's of the CRP (crushed red pepper) variety. Draw is just a touch snug. Burn is almost perfect at the 3/4" mark. Ash is salt & pepper gray and flaky. Ash dropped at the 1 1/4" mark. At the 1 1/4" point the spice has mellowed and a floral note arrives. Actually melds nicely with the earthy base. Ash is tightening up.

2nd
CRP spice picks up a bit at the start. There's a hint of black licorice. Wow didn't see that coming! Spice fades a bit and a nutty note appears. Draw has loosened up to perfect. Nuts, earth and dark chocolate flavors working well together almost halfway into 2nd/3rd. About 2/3's into 2nd there are some blk pepper notes but we'll overlook that!

Final/3rd
Blk pepper faded. Strength was medium+ til now when it went to a low full. Mostly earth and nuts now. Roasted unsalted in case u were wondering. Strength is at full halfway thru. The CRP is back strong. Very flavorful complex smoke!
