The Rake Robusto by MoyaRuiz 10/29/16

The Rake Robusto by MoyaRuiz

Appearance

The milk chocolate colored wrapper has a few prominent veins and tight seams. It is slightly toothy and has very little if any oil on the surface. It's well packed with no soft spots.

Aroma

Earthy, chocolatey and hay on the wrapper. Earth, fruit and spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw

Earth, molasses, fruit and spice.

1st

The initial draws bring notes of earth, cocoa, bread and cinnamon spice. The ash is light gray a bit stacked and flaky. The draw is a tick snug and the burn line has a small wave. Late in the 1st/3rd fruity notes join the profile. Strength started at medium and has moved to medium+ already.

2nd

The smoke production is in the medium range. The finish is medium in length with notes of earth, bread, cocoa, cashew and cinnamon spice. The fruity flavors which are back again seem to come and go. Draw has loosened. Burn is still wavy.

Final/3rd

Strength moves to med/full. Profile remains consistent. Burn has fully self corrected.

Overall The Rake provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A balanced mildly complex flavor profile.
