Pappy Van Winkle Tradition Coronita 11/25/18

 Appearance
A medium brown colored wrapper with a couple of prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped and visible. There is a nice oily sheen on the wrapper. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Lush fruit, molasses, cedar and a hint of spice on the wrapper. The same at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Fruit, molasses, licorice and a hint of spice.

1st
Initial draws bring notes of cedar and a distant spice. An interesting rye bread note joins the profile as the spice continues to develop. The ash is salt&pepper gray and stacked. The draw is perfect. The burn has a small wave. Ash held firm till removal.

2nd
Just into the 2nd/3rd roasted pecan notes join the profile. Coffee notes bring a slight bitterness to the profile(not a bad thing). Nice complexity for a small cigar. The profile is well balanced. Strength is medium+. Smoke production is at the medium range.

Final/3rd
The finish is long with notes of cedar, rye bread, roasted pecans, coffee and nutmeg spice all wrapped in a leathery texture. The strength moves to med/full. Tasty right to the nub.

Overall
The Pappy Van Winkle Tradition Coronita provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A complex and well balanced profile with a perfect draw and mildly erratic burn.
A bit on the pricey side and we all know why, but as I always say, GottaTryEmAll™️!!
