Appearance
Dark chocolate colored wrapper with a couple prominent veins. The seams are tight and almost invisible. It has a light oily sheen. The wrapper is beautiful with sunlight showing its oil and color.
Aroma
The wrapper has an earthy aroma with hints of cocoa powder. Cocoa sweetness at the foot.
Prelight Draw
Black licorice
1st
After the first few puffs there was V shaped burn anomaly. Earthy tobacco flavors yield to a hint of spice at the 1" mark. The ash is light gray and slightly flaky. The draw is a touch snug but I'm sure it will loosen up. The burn has self corrected. There is also a faint espresso note developing. I ashed at the end of the 1st but it would have held longer.
2nd
The spice has developed into a nice crushed red pepper type spice. The strength is medium and has been from the start. Midway thru the spice leans more to a black pepper.
Final/3rd
Notes of roasted nuts start off the final/3rd. The draw has opened up. The cigar has a medium finish. The flavors have blended well together. Each time a flavor joins the mix it starts out strong then tapers off a bit to blend in with the other flavors. Nicely done! This cigar provided a very enjoyable smoking experience. The price point of this Robusto is $7.50 and is available at 103collection@gmail.com
