Regius Sun Grown Corona 1/21/18

 Appearance
Dark chocolate colored wrapper with a couple prominent veins. The seams are tight albeit visible due to the minor mottling(variation in color) which is not a bad thing. It has very little in the way of visible oils.
The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.
Nice color contrast in the bands.

Aroma
Earthy, cocoa, cedar and a faint hint of spice on the wrapper. Earth and cedar with a hint of spice at the foot.
Prelight Draw
Earthy, cedar, licorice and cinnamon spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar. The draw is a bit snug. The burn is perfect. A faint note of cocoa joins the profile. About a 1/2” in the spice begins to develop. The ash is medium gray and fairly tight with a bit of stacking.

2nd
Strength has settled at medium. Smoke production is at the medium range. Midway through the 2nd/3rd the strength moves to medium+. The draw has opened up nicely at this point as well. The bands remove perfectly as just the right amount of pectin glue was used.

Final/3rd
The balance is spot on. The finish is long with notes of earth, cedar, cocoa and cinnamon spice. The strength moves to med/full.

Overall
The Regius Sungrown Corona provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A nice profile that’s well balanced with a perfect burn and a great draw from the 1/2way point to the nub.
Well done Akhil @regiuscigars brand owner.
