Glandon Family Creedence Habano Oscuro Semi Box Press 11/11/18

 Appearance
A dark chocolate colored wrapper with a couple of prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped and difficult to find. There is a light oil sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Earth, cedar and a distant spice on the wrapper. Earth, cedar, lush red fruit and cinnamon spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Licorice, earth, cedar, lush red fruit, molasses and cinnamon spice.

1st
The initial draws bring bold notes of earth and cedar with cinnamon and black pepper spice in the background. The second couple of draws I notice the spice easing up a bit. In the next group of draws the molasses and fruity notes join the profile. I’m at 1/2” in and I’m noticing the strength is already ramping up to med/full. Very flavorful and very strong at the same time. Remember I do my reviews before breakfast so my palate will be clean. The smoke production is at the high range. The draw is perfect. The ash is a dark gray, stacked and a bit flaky so far. It actually started blooming(think of a flower) so I removed the ash so I wouldn’t have the distraction from the flavor. Tasting some dark chocolate notes about an inch and a half into the 1st/3rd. The first inch the burn was a bit wonky with all the blooming going on but it has settled down and evened out now. Wow! A lot going on in the 1st/3rd.

2nd
The 2nd/3rd starts with the black pepper tapering back and the sweetness moving to the forefront. The strength moves to full, catching up with the body. Suffice it to say it would be best to eat a good meal before smoking the Creedence. Some cashew notes join the profile and bring a smooth texture to the smoke. Very well balanced with nice complexity. The finish is long with notes of earth, cedar, lush fruit, molasses, dark chocolate, cashew, cinnamon spice and a pinch of black pepper spice.

Final/3rd
The flavorful, complex and well balanced profile continues into the final/3rd. I’ve smoked every Oscuro wrapped cigar on the market and non have been as complex or held their complexity and balance like this one! Phenomenal! The word Creedence(credence) is defined as Overwhelming evidence of something great. Man! Did Alan hit the nail on the head with this name! Complex, well balanced and extremely flavorful right to the nub.

 Overall
The Glandon Family Creedence Habano Oscuro Box Press provides an overwhelmingly enjoyable smoking experience. A complex, well balanced and extremely flavorful profile with a perfect draw and burn.
