Camacho/Cigar Dojo Imperial Stout Barrel Aged Toro 3/9/19

 Appearance
A rustic looking chocolate brown wrapper with a few thin veins on the surface. The seams are tightly wrapped and the 3 seam cap is well applied. The matte finish of the wrapper has a tiny bit of oil sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Earth, Oak, chocolate and spice on the wrapper. Earth, chocolate, vanilla and mild spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Earth, chocolate, vanilla and rich bold spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of earth, sweetness and a pinch of black pepper spice. Smoke production is at the high range. Draw is perfect. The black pepper spice continues to build. The body is full while the strength is medium+. The burn has a small wave at 1/2” in. The ash is medium gray and stacked with a bit of flake. Oak notes become noticeable. The ash was looking suspect and dropped at about an inch in. The sweetness brings a nice balance to the profile. Near the end of the 1st/3rd the burn gets all wonky.

2nd
After ashing and inspecting the working end I find a tunnel on one side just under the binder leaf and the cone is off center which is causing the uneven burn. Strength is at med/full. The finish is long with notes of earth, oak, dark chocolate, vanilla and a cinnamon/mild black pepper spice combo. The ash is still very flaky. Late in the 2nd/3rd the strength joins the body at full. Might wanna change into your BigBoy pants. Burn has begun self correcting.

Final/3rd
The burn fully self corrects about a 1/2” into the final/3rd. The flavorful profile continues right to the nub.

Overall
The Camacho/Cigar Dojo Imperial Stout Barrel Aged Toro provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A complex, well balanced and flavorful profile with a perfect draw and erratic burn.
If you like a bold and strong cigar with a flavorful profile, this will be right in your wheelhouse.
GoGetchasome™️!!
