Dapper Cigars Siempre Sungrown Corona 3/24/19
Appearance
A mottled dark brown wrapper with a few prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped and only visible due to the mottling. It has a nice oily sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.
Aroma
Earth, cedar and spice on the wrapper. Earth, cedar and spice at the foot.
Prelight Draw
Earth, molasses, citrus tang and spice.
1st
Initial draws bring notes of dark brown earth and a pinch of spice. Almond notes bring a balance to the spice. The draw and burn are spot on. The smoke production is in the high range. The ash is salt&pepper gray, stacked and flaky. Citrus notes join the profile. Strength & body are about medium+. The ash dropped at about 1” into the cigar.
2nd
The burn line gets a bit wavy due to a couple of tunnels just inside the binder leaf. The spice is a Paprika with a pinch of black pepper. One of the tunnels ends as the burn is self correcting.
Final/3rd
The black pepper spice fades away.
The finish is long with notes of earth, almond, citrus and Paprika spice. The flavor profile remains consistent right to the nub.
Overall
Dapper Cigars Siempre Sungrown Corona provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a perfect draw and mildly erratic burn.
A little pricey at $11 and change for a Corona but as I always say
