Corona de GTO 10 Años Maduro Toro 3/30/19

 Appearance
An oily dark brown wrapper with a couple of prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Floral, brown sugar, cedar and leather on the wrapper. Cereal, cedar, aged tobacco and raisin at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Earth, cedar, raisin, floral, brown sugar.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of Dominican twang with a little citrus tang as well. The draw is a bit snug. The burn is straight with a slight wave. The sweet flavor yields to a meaty/savory flavor. The ash is salt&pepper gray and stacked with some flaking. There is a very faint cinnamon spice in the background starting at the midway point of the 1st/3rd and continuing to develop by the end of the 1st/3rd. The ash held firm and straight until removal.

2nd
Right away the draw loosened up and the smoke production increases to the high end of medium range. Strength has been medium to the midpoint of the cigar. A tiny bit of sweetness returns to the profile.

Final/3rd
There is a pinch of black pepper noticeable in the profile to start the final/3rd.
The profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
The Corona de GTO 10 Años Maduro Toro provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced albeit consistent flavor profile with a nice draw after the 1st/3rd and a slightly wavy burn throughout.
Thank you to Dr Oscar Rodriguez @GTOCigars for the samples for review.
