Avo Unexpected Moment Blue Toro 8/17/19

 Appearance
A medium brown colored wrapper with a few prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. There is a nice oily sheen on the wrapper. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Hay, cedar, dried fruit, a hint of barnyard and faint spice on the wrapper. Floral, dried fruit, aged tobacco and spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Very sweet, floral, cedar and mild spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar, dried fruit and mild cinnamon spice. The draw is effortless. The burn has a very slight wave. The ash is salt&pepper gray and mostly tight with a little flake. The spice ramps up as the 1st/3rd burns. The ash holds firm and straight until removal.

2nd
Smoke production is at the low end of high range. Strength is medium. Wow! Just had an incredibly sour note sweep over my palate. Now light roast coffee notes join the profile. Smoke production moves to the high range. Burn has fully self corrected. Strength moves up a tick to medium+. The sweetness has backed off a bit. The finish is long with notes of cedar, light roast coffee, hints of dried fruit, hay and warm cinnamon spice.

Final/3rd
The profile moves into the final/3rd with the spice becoming more like Paprika.
The well balanced and flavorful profile continues right to the nub.

Overall
The Avo Unexpected Moment Blue Toro provides a very enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with an effortless draw and mildly erratic burn.
