Highclere Castle Victorian Toro by Foundation Cigar 10/6/19

Appearance
A dark brown colored wrapper with several prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. There is a nice oily sheen as well as a bit of tooth. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Earth, chocolate, molasses, cedar and spice on the wrapper. Raisin, earth, cedar and spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Lush dried fruit, raisin, earth, cedar, licorice, chocolate, nougat and spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar, earth and a hint of cinnamon spice. The draw & burn are spot on. Smoke production is at the medium range. The spice is developing and tastes more like nutmeg spice now. The ash is light gray and stacked but fairly tight. Dried fruit notes have joined the profile, along with a pinch of black pepper. Mild notes of nougat appear. The tight ash held firm and straight until removal.

2nd
The black pepper spice tapers back while the rest of the flavors remain consistent. The finish is long with notes of cedar, earth, dried fruit, molasses, nougat, chocolate and nutmeg spice all very well balanced.

Final/3rd
Smoke production is at the high range. Strength and body are med/full. The blend has caused great salivation from the first draws, I haven’t needed a drink of my water the entire time. The pinch of black pepper spice returns. The complex, well balanced and flavorful profile continues right to the nub.

Overall
The Highclere Castle Victorian Toro provides an extremely enjoyable smoking experience. A complex, well balanced and flavorful profile with a perfect draw and burn.
