Warped Serie Gran Reserva 1988 Robusto 10/12/19

Appearance
A milk chocolate colored wrapper with a couple of prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped and the wrapper has a nice oily sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Chocolate, floraly tobacco, cedar and a distant spice on the wrapper. Milk Chocolate, cedar and spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Cedar, white fruit, spice

1st
The initial draws bring notes of earth, cedar, sweetness and spice. The draw is a bit snug from the start. White pepper notes show up right away. The burn starts out with a slight wave but is currently self correcting. I’m beginning to notice white fruit notes like a juicy pear. The ash is medium gray and stacked. Strength is medium. Smoke production is at the low end of medium range. The ash while looking a bit suspect held on till removal.

2nd
Strength is at medium+. The sweetness fades leaving notes of earth, cedar and spice wrapped in a leathery texture. The draw opens up a half inch into the 2nd/3rd. Smoke production is at the medium range. The pear sweetness is coming back. Almond notes join the profile. The finish is long with notes of earth, cedar, almond, pear sweetness and white pepper spice.

Final/3rd
The burn & draw are spot on. The profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
The Warped Serie Gran Reserva 1988 Robusto provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a good draw and mildly erratic burn.
Thanks again to brother Steve @bigbucky24 for the cigar. Another from the 💣 of new releases he sent me.
