BrickHouse Ciento por Ciento TAA Toro Extra 12/1/19

Appearance
A medium brown colored wrapper with a few prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. There is a very light oil sheen on the wrapper leaf. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Earth, cedar, tobacco and spice on the wrapper. Molasses, cedar, graham cracker and spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Molasses, cedar, raisin, earth and spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar and cinnamon spice. The draw is perfect. The burn starts out slightly wavy but is self correcting as I puff. The ash is light gray and stacked on one side and tight on the other. The ash is starting to lean to one side. Peanut notes join the profile with a floral note alongside. The ash though looking very suspect held on till I removed it.

2nd
Upon inspection of the working end I find a large(1/4” diameter) tunnel which is the cause of the erratic burn. Strength & body start at medium. The ash is beginning to bloom on 1 side. Smoke production is at the medium range. The floral note has faded. Just past the midway point there is a sour/metallic note that fades just as quickly. The finish is long with notes of cedar, peanuts, coffee and warm cinnamon spice.

Final/3rd
The profile continues unchanged into the final/3rd. The sour/metallic note has returned. Strength is at medium+. The profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
The BrickHouse Ciento por Ciento TAA Toro Extra provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a perfect draw and erratic burn.
