Blackbird Cigar Jackdaw Connecticut Robusto 4/26/20

Appearance
A light brown colored wrapper with a few prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. There is a light oil sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Dried fruit, floral, cedar and mild spice on the wrapper. Dried fruit, cedar, cocoa powder and spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Cedar, black licorice, cocoa powder, dried fruit, floral and spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar with a distant spice. Coffee notes are noticeable as well. The draw is a tick snug and the burn is mildly erratic. The ash is dark gray and stacked. Strength is mild. The ash held firm and straight until removal.

2nd
Smoke production is at the medium range. Draw has opened up nicely. Cedar, coffee and nutmeg spice are the dominant flavors. The burn is still wavy. The finish is long with notes of cedar, faint dried fruit, faint cocoa powder, coffee and nutmeg spice.

Final/3rd
The burn line fully self corrects with the help of simple physics. The profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
The Blackbird Jackdaw Connecticut Robusto provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced flavor profile with a good draw and mildly erratic burn.
A good morning smoke.
