LFD 25th Anniversary Churchill 4/11/20

Appearance
A medium brown colored wrapper with a few prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. There is a light oil sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Barnyard, cedar and spice on the wrapper. Cedar, candied dried fruit and a mild spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Graham cracker, raisin, cedar and spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar, graham cracker and spice. The draw is very snug. The ash is light gray and tight but it has some stack lines. Smoke production is at the low range. The burn has a small wave. The ash holds firm and straight until removal.

2nd
Upon inspection of the working end I find 2 tunnels one on each side causing the wavy burn. The draw is beginning to open up. The burn is self correcting and smoke production is increasing. New notes of what reminds me of sourdough bread with the sweetness of black cherry join the profile. The finish is long with notes cedar, graham cracker, sourdough bread, black cherry and crushed red pepper spice. The burn has fully self corrected. Smoke production is at the medium range. Strength is med/full.

Final/3rd
The well balanced and flavorful profile moves into the final/3rd. The draw is now perfect. The spice tapers back a tick. The profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
The LFD 25th Anniversary Churchill provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a good draw after the snug 1st half and a mildly erratic burn till the final/3rd.
Very similar profile as the Andalusian Bull , as it uses the same blend albeit different primings.
If you’re a fan of the Bull you’ll enjoy this one.
