Warfighter Tobacco Co. .50Cal Garrison Oscuro Maduro Robusto 3/8/20

Appearance
A dark chocolate colored wrapper, almost black, with a few thin veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. The wrapper leaf feels more oily than its matte finish looks. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Earth, cedar, chocolate and spice on the wrapper. Cedar, chocolate and spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Earth, cedar, black licorice(Good&Plenty candy) and a hint of spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of earth, charred meat and cinnamon spice. The draw is a bit snug. The burn, while fairly straight, has a wonky spot on one side. The ash is light gray and stacked. Buttered bread notes join the profile, lots of butter. The ash is getting flaky as it burns. Strength and body are at medium. Smoke production is at the low end of medium range. The ash looks a bit suspect but holds firm until removal.

2nd
Upon inspection of the working end I find 2 tunnels side by side a quarter inch under the binder, the cause of the erratic burn. Strength moves to med/full. The draw opens up nicely. Smoke production increases to the high end of medium range. Sweet dark chocolate notes join the profile. The finish is long with notes of earth, cedar, charred meat, buttered bread, dark chocolate and nutmeg spice.

Final/3rd
The charred meat notes begin to dominate the profile. The profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
The Warfighter .50 Cal Garrison Oscuro Maduro Robusto provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a good draw after the 1st/3rd and a mildly erratic burn.
Warfighter Tobacco Co. Is owned by combat veterans and made in the Dominican Republic. Definitely give them a try.
