Ilegal Connecticut Robusto by Robaina 5/9/20

Appearance
A light brown colored wrapper with a few prominent albeit thin veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. It has a light oil sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Floral, cedar, sugar and spice on the wrapper. Closed foot

Prelight Draw
Cedar, molasses, raisin, floral and mild spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of dry toast, cedar and mild cinnamon spice. Floral notes join in on the next set of draws. The draw is a tick snug. At almost an inch in the profile takes on a creamy texture. The ash is light gray and tight. The burn is off a bit but is self correcting with the help of simple physics. Strength is mild. Smoke production is at the low end of medium range. The ash holds firm and straight until removal.

2nd
Upon inspection of the working end I find 2- 1/8”diameter tunnels causing the uneven burn. There is a sweet fruit like flavor in the background. Creamy cashew notes join the profile. The draw opens up and smoke production increases with it. The finish is long with notes of cedar, floral, dry toast, creamy cashew, faint fruit sweetness and warm cinnamon spice.

Final/3rd
The tasty flavor profile continues into the final/3rd. The well balanced and flavorful profile continues right to the nub.

Overall
The Ilegal Connecticut Robusto provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a good draw and mildly erratic burn.
