Rocky Patel Number 6 Toro 3/28/20

Appearance
A milk chocolate colored wrapper with a few thin veins and several prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. It has a nice oily sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Earth, cedar, tobacco and a distant spice on the wrapper. Dried fruit, dates and a mild spice at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Dried fruit, cedar, earth, dates and paprika spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar and a mild spice. The draw is a bit snug. At 1/2” the burn is wavy. The spice begins to increase in intensity. At about 3/4” there are very sweet dried fruit notes joining the profile. The ash is salt&pepper gray and stacked. Earthy notes join the profile. Smoke production is at the low end of medium range. The strength and body are at medium. The ash held firm and straight until removal.

2nd
Upon inspection of the working end I find 2 tunnels on opposite sides which are causing the wavy burn. Too much gomma was used causing some of the color on the band to come off when I removed the band. The spice, which was getting very intense, has tapered back a bit. Just before the halfway point the draw opens up. The smoke production increases to the medium range. The burn has fully self corrected at the midway point. The finish is long with notes of cedar, earth, dried fruit and paprika spice.

Final/3rd
The well balanced and flavorful profile rolls into the final/3rd. Medium roast coffee notes join the profile near the end of the final/3rd. The profile continues right to the nub.

Overall
The RP Number 6 Toro provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a good draw and burn after the midway point.
Definitely a cigar to give a go.
