Cornelius & Anthony Mistress Corona Gorda 2/23/19

 Appearance
A medium brown colored wrapper with several prominent veins. The seams are tightly wrapped. The wrapper has a nice oily sheen and a bit of tooth. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Dried red fruit, cedar, earth, leather and a hint of spice on the wrapper. The same at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Molasses, dried red fruit, red licorice, cedar and a mild spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar and earth with a mild spice in the background. The spice is developing in the form of black pepper. The draw is almost effortless. The burn is wavy. The ash is medium gray and stacked. Smoke production is in the high range! The dried red fruit is beginning to make its presence known. So far the black pepper spice is in balance. The ash held firm and straight til removal.

2nd
Starting out the 2nd/3rd the black pepper spice ramps up and takes over the profile. At 1/2” in the spice tapers back into balance with the cedar, earth and dried red fruit. Espresso notes join the profile late in the 2nd/3rd. Strength has been medium+ from the start.

Final/3rd
The well balanced profile has a long finish with notes of cedar, earth, dried red fruit, espresso and black pepper spice. The flavorful profile continues right to the nub.

Overall
The Cornelius & Anthony Mistress Corona Gorda provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A well balanced and flavorful profile with a perfect draw and near perfect burn. Definitely a cigar to try.
