Cornelius & Anthony Señor Esugars Corona Gorda 3/23/19

 Appearance
A dark chocolate colored wrapper with a couple of prominent veins and a little bit of tooth. The seams are tightly wrapped. It has a light oil sheen. The filler bunch is well packed with one soft spot.

Aroma
Earth, dark chocolate, molasses on the wrapper. Earth, cedar, light molasses at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Earth, cedar, molasses, chocolate and a mild spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of cedar, earth, toast and a mild allspice. A bit of black pepper spice joins the profile. The ash is medium gray and stacked. The draw is a bit snug and the burn is spot on. Medium roast coffee notes join the profile.

2nd
Sweet notes like caramel become very apparent. Draw has opened up nicely. Strength is medium. Smoke production is at the medium range. There is a double tunnel on one side causing an erratic burn. The finish is long with notes of earth, cedar, caramel, toast, chocolate, coffee and a black pepper/ cinnamon spice combo. Smoke production moves to the low end of high. Burn continues to be uneven.

Final/3rd
The tunnels are gone and the burn is self correcting. Profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
Cornelius & Anthony Señor Esugars Corona Gorda provides an enjoyable smoking experience. A complex, well balanced and flavorful profile with a perfect draw(after the 1st/3rd) and an erratic burn.
