The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No.142 Robusto 2/17/19

 Appearance
The reddish brown colored wrapper has a few thin veins. The seams are tightly wrapped and difficult to find. There is a very oily sheen as well. The filler bunch is well packed with no apparent soft spots.

Aroma
Earth, cedar, sweetness and a hint of spice on the wrapper. Cedar, earth and dried fruit at the foot.

Prelight Draw
Dried red fruit, cedar, earth, red licorice and mild spice.

1st
The initial draws bring notes of earthy cedar with a white pepper spice kick. The smoke production is already in the high range. Strength is medium+ from the first draws. The burn has a bit of a wave at the 3/4” mark. Draw is perfect. The ash is light gray and tight. The burn is self correcting. Dried red fruit notes are joining the well balanced profile. The white pepper spice has tapered off a bit. The ash held firm and straight till removal.

2nd
The flavor profile is very tasty as the white pepper spice comes back into balance with the cedar, earth and dried red fruit. Just the right amount of vegetable glue was used to secure the band and there was not even the slightest damage to the band upon removal. I admire the seams which are so tightly wrapped that they appear to be a line drawn on the wrapper, which speaks to the quality of construction. The burn line is now razor sharp. The body is med/full while the strength is still medium+. Some cinnamon notes join the white pepper for a nice spice combo.

Final/3rd
Espresso notes join the flavor profile as the dried red fruit notes disappear. The strength moves to med/full. The profile remains consistent right to the nub.

Overall
The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No.142 Robusto provides a very enjoyable smoking experience. A complex, well balanced and flavorful profile with a perfect draw and mildly erratic burn.
The cigar is made at the AJ Fernandez factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
